Our Mission

What is Andona? For over fifty years, this volunteer, non-profit organization has raised thousands of dollars from the generous local businesses and residents of the Andover community.  These funds have been distributed to enhance educational, athletic and cultural enrichment programs offered to young people in Andover.  During our prior fiscal year (August 2004 – July 2005), Andona donated over $54,000 to a variety of causes (see Mission statement below for more details).

How does our funding work? Each year, Andona receives requests from schools and other organizations which are then reviewed by the membership according to need and availability of funds.  We grant fund requests, summer camp opportunities and scholarships.   No request is too small. 

How do we raise funds? In addition to sponsoring youth programs and hosting community events like the babysitting program and "evening out at the YMCA" for middle school students, Andona conducts three major fundraisers each year - ClownTown and 2 adult events, one in November (usually a dinner dance or comedy night) and one in the Spring (often a fashion show or similar afternoon of entertainment).   The entire Andover community and friends are invited to join us at any or all of these events!

What is our goal? Andona wants to make an impact on Andover Youth as we have for the last several decades.  We hope to continue our tradition of supporting youth programs to help our young people learn, grow and achieve.
