The financial assistance that Andona provides includes a wide array but also targets various populations within our community.  One of our 2004 donations was to the Special Olympics All Stars Soccer Team to purchase team shirts.  The team has doubled in size since 2003 as the opportunity to learn and play soccer is very popular for residents of all ages.   Guidelines -  How to Request Funds from Andona

For the elementary schools (High Plain, Sanborn, South, Bancroft and Shawsheen), Andona provides funds for the continuation of Cultural Enrichment by helping to fund music, art and social programs.

On behalf of Andover All Town Cultural Enrichment Committee and all the elementary school children, I wish to thank you Andona for their generous support during the school year.  On Monday, October 31, West Elementary will kick off this years cultural event, CelloBop.  A total of 14 programs have been scheduled.  Programs will continue throughout the week at each of the elementary schools in Andover.  We're very excited about this program and know that our students will be fascinated with the performer, Gideon Freudmann, and his cello mastery.  Thank you once again for your continuous support of Cultural Enrichment in Andover's elementary schools.....Judith Farzen, Member All Town Cultural Enrichment. - 10/05

On behalf of the entire South School community, please extend to the Andona members my sincere thank you for the donation of $1,000 to be used toward the "Fisherman and His Wife" musical performance presented under the tutelage of Children's Stage Adventures.  The musical was a great success, and taking part in the musical was a wonderful experience for the children.  We had 47 students participate, and the remaining 550 students were in the audience.  We also had an evening performance enjoyed by over 250 people.  Once again, many, many thanks for your generosity.  Regards,  Dr. Eileen Woods, Principal - 11/05

At the middle schools (Doherty, West Middle, Wood Hill and Pike), Andona directs funds to the very popular After School programs available to students.

Once again, on behalf of the Doherty Middle School Intramural Program, I would like to thank you for your very generous grant donation.  Funding from your society enables us to continue to provide an exceptional middle school intramural sports program.  Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated by the whole Doherty community.   ...Tom Keane, Doherty Middle School - 12/05

While at Andover High, our support ranges from sports and club activities to helping students further their education through scholarships.

On behalf of the Andover Band Association, we'd like to thank you for your generous donation to our fundraising drive for new uniforms to outfit the Andover High School Golden Warriors Marching Band.  While we have not met our final goal of purchasing 100 uniforms, we have placed an initial order for 65 units which should debut at the Andover Memorial Day parade in May 2005. ...Co-presidents, Andover Band Association - 12/04.

On behalf of Andover CARES, I again want to thank you for your generous support of our most recent publication, Access Andover.  A copy of the book, now being distributed to all grades at Andover High School, is enclosed.  We understand that it is well received, and the current printing is expected to meet the needs of future freshman health education classes for three to four years.  Again,  the assistance....is greatly appreciated.  Diane Hender, Facilitator, Community Advocates for Resources, Education and Support. - 12/05

In addition to assistance to school programs, Andona provides financial help to the Easter Seals, Special Olympics, Challenge Unlimited Therapeutic Riding at Ironstone Farm, along with Memorial Hall Library Passes to Museums, and Andover Historical Society and the Andover Chamber Music events.

I am writing to thank Andona for the generous donation to support the Andover Youth Wrestling Club.  The money benefited 50 students who signed up for the team.  We had a very successful first year.  Our coaches taught the boys many strategic moves as well as a philosophy that hard work and the belief in oneself makes all the difference in wrestling as well as in life!  We have been fortunate enough to get the support of local towns to support us in competing in their tournaments.  Thank you for making our first year a success!  Sharon Olivieri - 3/06
